Showdown Mode reworked: New rules, new rivalries
Hello UFL players!
In the past few articles, you’ve seen how Link-Up and the new Player Card systems can boost your squad, and we’ve covered the exciting Packs system. Now, let’s talk about the reworked Showdown mode and how it’s going to challenge your strategies in a whole new way.
First, here's a quick refresher: Showdown is a weekend competitive mode running Friday through Sunday, where you enter matches either using special Showdown tokens earned from playing and winning ranked online matches, or using Premium status. Aim for 15 wins to unlock special rewards based on your performance — top prizes require 15 straight victories without losses or draws, but you'll still get rewards matching your results if there are any draws, while 5 losses disqualify you. It's like your regular competitive play, but with exclusive rewards and all packed into those three days!
The new changes focus on simplicity and accessibility. Premium subscription access to Showdown is being removed entirely, meaning tokens are now tied directly to rewards: starting from your third win, you'll earn enough (60) to join the next event seamlessly. All mentions of premium subscriptions are cleared from Showdown screens and pop-ups to keep everything confusion-free. We've also revisited the rewards and included new packs to align with the new meta.
That's all you need to know to be prepared and adapt to UFL's new meta-game changes — get ready for some action-packed weekends!
