UFL Squad Management Overhaul: Transfers, Line-Ups, and Reserves

by Elena Misko

Hello UFL players!

We’ve already covered a lot of ground in our articles about the new update, from the Player Card system and Skills display to the conversion of skins and the power of Link-Up. Now, it’s time to shift gears and talk about some big changes to the Transfer Market, starting line-ups, and Reserve mechanics. These updates are designed to make managing your squad more intuitive and fun, so let’s dig into the details!

Transfer Market Overhaul

In order to craft a standout team, you need to visit the Transfer Market, which serves as your hub for buying and loaning footballers. Now, it’s getting some much-needed tweaks to make buying and selling footballers a smoother experience. The Reputation mechanic is gone for good — it won’t affect adding footballers to your club anymore. Now, you can buy footballers using Credit Points (CP), and the process for getting basic footballers hasn’t changed. If you run short on CP, an automatic reminder to top up your balance will let you know when it’s time to grab some more.

We’re also removing the extra slot buying mechanic. However, when you tap a player, you will still see some familiar options: Buy, Add a free agent, Sell, Buy out a loaned player, Compare with your team, Add to favorites, and See skills are all still there. Updated filters now make searching easier — you can sort by a footballer’s Position or Rating. You can also hide your purchased Basic Player Cards to keep the list clean. Above the list, you’ll now see how many free reserve spots you have. Rentals still help new players get started, and Free Agents can still be added at no cost when setting up your account. To get going, pick your filters, choose your footballers, and handle any alerts as they appear.

Starting Line-up Mechanic

The Starting Lineup screen also helps to keep things simple and clear. You’ll have your main 11 footballers — 10 on the field, a goalkeeper, as well as a bench of 7 substitutes. Only the starters participate in matches, while the bench is there for quick swaps but doesn’t give any bonuses. You can freely move footballers between the lineup, bench, and reserve, compare stats, or check deeper details through the menu. Quick links to the Transfer Market and Tactics screen are still there, and alerts for injuries or red cards remain, so you can’t start with unavailable footballers.

When selling footballers, the ones from the Transfer Market (Basic cards) can be sold for CP. Legacy footballers with no skins applied also sell for soft currency, while the same legacy footballers with skins applied instead return Particles. Higher-tier Legends always return Particles, with the refund amount matching their value. Your Club Strength is calculated from three parts: the main lineup’s adjusted average rating (times 8), the bench’s average rating (times 0.5), and your total Link-Up score (times 2). Starters can get up to +6% boosts from Link-Up, while the bench is counted as-is.

To try it out, open the Lineup screen, place your footballers while watching for alerts and stats, check your club’s strength, and use the market filters to find the right additions. Whether you’re fine-tuning your starters or chasing a key signing, the updated system makes managing your team faster and more intuitive.

The Reserve Mechanic

Finally, the Reserve is turning into a big, easy-to-use storage space, like the skins collection, but with no more limits on slots — you get 999,999 right from the start, and each player card takes its own spot, without stacking copies. No worries about it filling up too much, as overflow isn't a feature. A hint shows where to find filters and sorting; if empty, a message suggests checking the in-game pack store (not the transfer market) for new ones. You can favorite as many reserve footballers as you like — they keep the tag even if moved to your lineup, but you'll have to re-add it if sold or turned into Particles. Favorites show up first with a special mark just in reserve. Filters match the market for positions, ratings (now covering 90+ too), and sorting options. To handle it, pop into reserve, use the tools to sort and filter your collection, add favorites for quick picks, and move footballers around freely.
