Update Notes 0.67

Dear UFL Players,

A scheduled maintenance update will take place on September 12 from 07:00 to 11:00 UTC. The server will be unavailable during this period, and matches will be inaccessible starting from 06:40 UTC.
Please note that while the expected server reactivation time is 11:00 UTC, minor delays may occur. If the game is not accessible immediately, rest assured it will be available shortly.

New Meta Mechanics

Player Cards

  • General Entity Changes

    • "Players" have been replaced with "Player Cards"

    • Player Cards can not be upgraded and do not have their energy deducted.

  • Changes to the Skin System

    • The "Skin" entity is no longer active.

    • Unopened Skin Packs and unused Skins remain in the user's inventory.

    • Unused Skins from Series can only be "dismantled" into Particles.

    • If a user receives a unique Skin from a Skin Pack, they are granted a special Player Card with the Skin's attributes.

    • Applied Skins grant the player a permanent boost and can’t be removed.

  • Player Experience 

    • The mechanic has been fully removed.

    • XP will be converted to preserve the value of prior investment.

    • When legacy players are converted into the new card format, their rating and stats will be reset to transfer market values, but all pre-assigned and upgraded skills will be preserved.

    • Conversion examples:

      • Player without a skin applied → Basic Card with base stats. Can be sold for CP.

      • Player with a skin applied → Basic Card with base stats and the active Skin. All bonuses from the Skin are preserved. Can be sold for CP or Particles.

      • Skin → Basic Card of the footballer with the Skin and its bonuses. Can be sold for Particles.

    • All Skills (pre-assigned as well as upgraded) are preserved.

  • Card Tiers

    • Basic — standard versions, tradable on the transfer market for CP. Your starter squad is built from Basic cards.

    • Mastery 1–4 — enhanced Cards from Packs (Mastery 4 will be released later).

    • Legends — Cards of outstanding footballers who have concluded their professional careers, with high collector value. The first Legend will be introduced in version 0.67.0

    • Legacy — cards migrated from old clubs. These are frozen at creation and do not change during rebalancing.

  • Skills

    • Skills no longer level up through Experience.

    • Skills vary depending on the card tier, from none on Base cards to extended sets on Legends.

    • Skills now have two levels: Basic and Gold.

  • Balance

    • Top 500 footballers have been rebalanced in terms of stats and rating.

Link-Up

  • Link-Up rewards building squads around specific criteria to maximise footballer performance.

  • Link-Up is based on three attributes present on every Player Card: Play Style, Nationality, and League.

  • Link-Up is determined by player positioning within the formation. The more shared attributes footballers have within connected links, the higher the Link-Up score.

  • Each player's Link-Up score ranges from 0 (no Link-Up) to 3 (maximum Link-Up). 

Club Management

  • Footballers available on the transfer market can only be purchased for CP. 

  • The club reserve now acts as storage for unused player cards. Maximum capacity: 9,999 cards.

  • After matches, footballers no longer need to recover Energy using CP.

  • Resource Changes:

    • RP is being removed from the game and no longer affects squad building. Accumulated Bonus Reputation will be compensated in CP.

    • Player XP is no longer earned in matches. Any unused XP will be compensated in CP. 

    • CP, RP, and XP boosters are being retired and removed from user inventories with compensation in LP.

    • Squad slots are being removed. Users will receive full LP compensation for each purchased slot. 

    • Unused premium days will be compensated in LP.

    • Unspent skill points will be compensated in CP.

    • Player market prices have been reduced.

    • CP earnings from matches have been lowered in line with the new in-game economy.

Packs

Packs will be available that can be obtained through the following methods:

  • for CP

  • for LP

  • for Particles

  • by completing onboarding

  • by completing challenges

  • by taking part in events (exclusive event packs)

Repeatable Challenges

A new challenge type has been introduced: Repeatable Challenges

  • These challenges feature a counter. Each completion reduces the counter by 1.

  • Challenges remain available as long as the counter is above 0. When it hits 0, the challenge is shown as locked.

  • If the challenge is completed but the counter is still above 0, the earned reward is displayed.

  • If the reward is not claimed, additional completions will increase the reward displayed.

  • Once the reward is claimed, the challenge resets to its default state, with its original counter and base reward.

Divisions Reset

All players will be reassigned based on their final rank from the previous season:

  • Bronze 6  → Bronze 6  

  • Other divisions  → Bronze 5  

Players will receive:

  • a reward for joining their new division.

  • and rewards for lower divisions.

 Ranked season rewards will be distributed based on the final division at the end of the season.

Gameplay

  • Off-the ball movement:

    • Improved animation blending and motion smoothness.

    • Increased responsiveness when turning; movements are now sharper and more natural.

  • Dribble run:

    • Improved responsiveness when using the left stick; movements are now more precise and predictable.

    • Improved movement fluidity.

    • The "Agility" attribute has been adjusted to have a greater impact on responsiveness.

  • Passing:

    • Ground Pass: The passer will aim toward the foot furthest from the nearest opponent or choose a trajectory clear of defenders. 

    • Driven Ground Pass: The power now more accurately reflects button hold duration.

    • Lobbed Through Pass: Players with high passing stats will now execute more accurate passes. 

  • Updated running style animations for Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kevin De Bruyne, Kylian Mbappé, and Erling Haaland.

  • Chip shot:

    • Players with high shooting attributes can now more easily chip a charging goalkeeper.

    • The presence of a nearby opponent will negatively impact chip shot performance.

    • The "Composure" attribute now influences chip shot effectiveness, helping mitigate the debuff from nearby opponents.

  • Goalkeeper:

    • Improved goalkeeper reaction to shots on goal during free kicks.

    • Improved positioning on crosses into the goal area.

    • Improved goalkeeper positioning during automatic rushes in one-on-one situations.

    • Improved goalkeeper behaviour and reaction to chip shots.

    • Fixed goalkeeper reaction to shots going off target.

  • Updated how the Interceptions skill affects passive interception range for players with lower stats.

  • Added new Functional Skills:

    • Trivela

    • Overlapping Threat

    • CM Defence Support

    • Air Defence

  • Fixes:

    • Fixed an issue where long passes struck at max power were too fast.

    • Fixed an issue where players wouldn’t engage in aerial duels.

    • Fixed an issue where a player could slide across the pitch after the referee's whistle.

AI Assist, Bot

  • Adjusted overall movement logic for AI-controlled players. They will now use sprinting more situationally and naturally. 

  • Improved attacking player behaviour when in the shooting path of a teammate; they will now attempt to move out of the way earlier.

  • Significantly reworked defensive bot behaviour. The bot can now identify optimal pass targets and intercept situationally.

  • Reworked bot behaviour in Kick-Off and Penalty situations.

  • Added logic for situational tactical preset switching during matches.

  • Slightly reworked low bot difficulty levels to better match expected performance.

  • Fixes:

    • Fixed an issue with save direction selection for bot-controlled goalkeepers during penalties.

    • Fixed an issue where the bot would switch to a player behind the ball during penalties.

    • Fixed an issue where the bot's defensive behaviour wouldn’t activate in specific game scenarios.

    • Fixed an issue where bot-controlled players could run off the pitch during throw-ins.

    • Fixed an issue with player switching during corners.

    • Fixed an issue with man-marking target selection when the goalkeeper makes a save.

    • Fixed aiming issues for bot shots in certain scenarios.

Other

  • Updated main menu.

  • Premium access can no longer be used to enter the Showdown mode. 

  • Updated Showdown menu.

  • New ambassadors with signature celebrations.
